Vacancy 01
Information Technology (IT) Officer - The position will be based at Head Office in Lautoka.
We are seeking a skilled IT Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in information technology, with expertise in computer systems, networks, and software applications. This role requires problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining and improving our IT infrastructure.
Essential Criteria:
Degree Level Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of technical experience with Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
Proven experience in IT support or administration with Technical capabilities that will help in re-aligning technology to Empower Pacific’s business objectives and future growth plans.
Proficient in Windows Operating Systems and Applications.
Trained in database administration including building database tables, queries and forms, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Access and above.
Proven ability to set-up and maintains small business servers and Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
Innovative and able to demonstrate examples of sound judgment and flexible problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Exceptional time management, planning and organizing skills.
Computer literacy
Key tasks:
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks. Ensure security of IT systems, including data backup, antivirus protection, and access controls.
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and servers.
Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving IT-related problems.
Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Create and implement a Digital archive storage.
Design a disaster recovery plan which incorporates a backup and recovery strategy for digital assets, by introducing automated backups, off-site copies, data retention policies, regular backup tests etc.
Maintain an IT asset register, listing all active and properly tagged devices (i.e. laptops, desktops, routers, Access points, printers, etc.).
Perform regular asset audits, disposing any decommissioned assets appropriately and responsibly.
Review /Update the website content and update where necessary. Consider implementing features such as automatic social posts, donation payment processing via PayPal.
Document IT systems, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training.

Communications and Media Officer – 1 Position- Lautoka.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualification in Journalism, media and communication.
Applicants MUST have a minimum of 2 years professional experience in a print media/journalism role and photographer skills.
Should be sensitive to issues related to mental health and must have sensitivity to challenges faced by marginalized communities
Have excellent writing & communication skills; Competent Skills in Computer; knowledge with Design software’s & Video editing will be an advantage
Have analytical skills, creative, ability to identify essential issues and facts, aware of different cultural contexts and have general research skills and have the ability to network in the area of communications & media.
Be willing to travel to different parts of the country for Empower Pacific activity coverage.
Key tasks:
Generating engagement on Empower Pacific website & Face Book
Create organizational profiles i.e. Tik Tok/Twitter. Have website design expertise.
Creating posters, IEC Materials and producing Videos that can be used for publicity and social media platforms.
Writing/editing media release, stories, newsletters and liaison person with media.
Coordinate with other Staff in arranging and running a number of high-profile events.
Develop brand identity & manage reputational risk.
Posting about trainings/workshops, awareness sessions, major developments of Empower Pacific regularly on social media.
Run campaigns on print and digital social media for extensive advertising and visibility of Empower Pacific’s multiple scope of work.
Preparing elaborate & robust communication plan for Empower Pacific.
Submitting regular reports to highlight work undertaken. Reporting on the progress of achievements for Media and Communications workplan.
